I had a lot of fun working with Sunflower Caffe, Chaname Wines, and DIFF Eyewear. Through all those experiences I learned so much about marketing, photography, and collaboration. Sunflower Caffe was a fast paced environment, where I collaborated with the owner to market on their social media and newsletter. I brought a unique and dynamic spin to their restaurant’s online life. Adding videos, gifs, and animations to their newsletter to keep it fresh and engaging to their audience. Aiding in opens and increase clicks via Mailchimp.
Along with helping Sunflower Caffe in keeping their online presence fresh, in 2016 I was contracted with DIFF Eyewear I brought my unique perspective to their brand. Bringing in a more diverse range of models, angels, and settings than they typically promoted on their social media pages. Showcasing how people of color create eye catching artwork and how we look in their sunglasses; ultimately helping diversify their brand.
Most recently I had the pleasure of working with Succulence, a plant store in San Francisco, CA. There I worked as a plant art workshop teacher, however, I also made plant art sold at the store and a newsletter sent out monthly. We had the pleasure of working with big companies such as Meta and Google, where we were commissioned for moss walls, vertical gardens, and to teach. It was a unique experience that taught me a lot about making commissioned work.
In the future I hope to build my portfolio and range of companies I can work with. Collaborating and communicating effectively is really important to me; being able to add my artistic vision while aligning with the client’s is intentions for their brand. I hope to find people that align well with who I am and my personal ideals within their business. Whether it is creating more outreach to queer, trans, black, indigenous, people of color or directly working for a business or nonprofit that aids these communities.
